The Lasker

Inn

The Lasker Inn is widely regarded as Galveston’s most opulent bed and breakfast. Grand meeting rooms, a gorgeous ballroom and chapel, an elegant bar, and wrap around porches are some of the distinctive and stylish features of The Lasker’s surroundings. Magnificent columns provide a stunning backdrop for photographs. The Lasker is a mansion built in the Greek Revival style around the year 1870 that has been restored to its magnificent original state. The Lasker Inn can be found in the historic district, and it is only a few short blocks away from both the beach and the historic downtown area. The Lasker features a total of six unique suites, each of which comes with a daily gourmet breakfast that is prepared by an on-site chef.

After the Great Storm of 1900, Morris Lasker made a donation of the property to be used as a home for homeless children. The property had previously been used as a lovely residence that had been constructed in 1870 by Mr. McLemore. Between the years 1900 and 1990, the building frequently hosted children. After that, it was used as the campus for Heritage Christian academy, and later, it was converted into an elegant event venue. After Hurricane Ike, The Lasker was abandoned for a period of four years before being purchased by Richard and Linda Denson, who then undertook extensive renovations in order to bring the property back to its former splendor and beauty before opening it to the public as a bed and breakfast and event venue.

Richard Conner, Lasker’s very own host, has presided over and hosted a number of fabulous weddings as well as VIP guests. He has always provided five-star custom service and has treated each visitor as if they were a member of the royal Lasker family. The weddings and other events that Richard plans and organizes are always flawlessly carried out. Under the direction of Richard Conner, a man of many talents, the professional staff at the Lasker makes sure that each and every detail is attended to in a seamless and perfect manner.
