Vehicles are allowed to drive on the beach, which is the area of sand from the vegetation line to the water’s edge, and the speed limit is 10 miles per hour. It also borders Galveston Island State Park, offering easy access to its tranquil sites. Keep in mind that no lifeguards are on duty, so children and weak swimmers should always be supervised. Glass containers and open fires are prohibited as well.
